A partner in a company is one of the owners. A partner is also one of two people who dance together or who play a sport or a game together, esp. when they play as a team. A person’s partner can also be the person to whom someone is married, or to whom the person is not married but with whom they have a close relationship.

At least one partner must be a general partner, with full personal liability for the partnership's debts. At least one other is a silent partner whose liability is limited to the amount invested.
